Nice and simple access from the canal to the new cycleway.

No dropped kerb to access the road and no way to access the cycleway on the other side. What on earth is going on here?

This is ridiculous - how are you expected to cycle onto the road when there are no dropped kerbs and when there's a sodding great fence in the way?

The surface on this cycleway is absolutely superb.

Cycleways aren't just for cyclists...

The crossing is welcome but the approach is difficult to navigate. Cyclists do not ride in right-angles, they ride in curves, and so the approach should be curved. And the buttons can be difficult for someone on a cargo bike to reach with ... [more]

These typical TFGM crossings are better than nothing but the controls are very difficult to see while cycling and the layout is difficult for a cyclist to navigate. Also, pedestrians and cyclists should not have to cross the road in stages ... [more]

It's very nice to see such good access not spoiled by a silly barrier. This is excellent.

While this is a welcome addition on this new road, the shared footway is too narrow. Valuable space has been taken by the armco on the left, which should really be on the right, taking space from the carriageway. If the barrier was on the ... [more]

The shared footway at the side of this new road is nice and wide and has an excellent surface.

The cycle lane merging like this is a nice idea, but it should be reinforced with wands in the chevron area.

This gate should be modified to allow active transport, or at least some dropped kerbs added.

A typical sight throughout Britain - if a car can't drive along it, let's not bother looking after it. This could be part of a good route between Tyldesley and Bolton but its poor condition renders it an unattractive proposition. Further ... [more]

The unsealed surface on this new cycleway is already beginning to show signs of water damage.

The canal towpath near this point has now been given a much improved sealed surface, so it's a shame that this point of access has been completely untouched.

Nice little pond

Pictures of bikes have been burned off. https://t.co/Y9pj2t26dN Follow up from #107108.

Looks like Wigan council didn't get the memo about greater manchester investing in cycle infrastructure. I genuinely didn't know these were cycle lanes until now. My shoulders are wider. Here's a tip, if you can't fit the bike picture in ... [more]

A dangerous toucan crossing near Saddle junction. The button on the right controls the first carriageway, but you have to stop in the island and press another button to stop traffic in the other carriageway. The crossing looks as though t ... [more]

New protected infrastructure under construction in Wigan.

Pointless barrier on this former railway. The area is littered with rubbish like this.

@OfficialTfGM @WiganCouncil I saw hardly anyone cycling there when I passed through last year, though much potential https://t.co/gXZ9wU2vqy

An utterly pointless short narrow advisory cycle lane painted green.

Canalside Location: Standish Lower Ground (England, United Kingdom) A bit further towards Gathurst. The river Douglas runs alongside the canal just to the left.
